Ramsys - Retail Management Systems
Ramsys was first developed in 1993 as a DOS application. At the time systems were limited, expensive to install and required powerful and expensive computers to run them. Mark Stratton, Ramsys' now Managing Director, who was working for a large multinational retailer at the time, understood what was required and set about to develop a system that would meet that company's business requirements and address the pain points that many other systems failed to achieve.
Once developed, the Ramsys solution was implemented throughout one of New Zealand's most successful retail chains, in excess of 230 stores across 4 countries.
In 2001 Nortech Systems was formed and a complete rewrite of Ramsys for the modern windows environment was undertaken. Since then the company has grown in strength through a commitment to product innovation, a strong understanding of how a retail business operates and a hands on approach to client management.
Most recently, in March 2010, Ramsys Management Systems Limited was formed. This has come about through a management and ownership restructure driven by the growth of the company and our plans to expand on our global presence. We have introduced a group of experienced and successful business people to the board, who have also taken a shareholding to reflect their confidence in the business, to contribute their talents and inject new ideas to ensure our continued success.
Our commitment continues to constantly review new technologies and evaluate how they may add increased value to our customers' business. We will not push expensive hardware and software upgrades based on marketing brag sheets and latest technology buzzes - our recommendations will always be based on what we believe will actually improve your customer's in store or online experience or which will assist you to maximise retail profits and operate more efficiently.
Mark Stratton
Mark was introduced to the retail industry in 1989. From 1992 he held the position of IT Manager of what is now a large multinational retail corporation. One of his first tasks was to provide guidance on the company's retail system which at the time was hampering the growth of the company hence Mark's vast and valuable knowledge on what really happens in both the front and back office of a retail business.
Throughout his career Mark has been privileged to work with some fantastic retail minds and has incorporated and moulded many of their ideas into the current product. Consequently when you use Ramsys Retail today you get the benefits of decades of input from some of the most experienced people in the retail business and that is why we think it is the most complete and thought out package on the market today.
Our growing success as a company has been derived to a large degree from open information sharing between ourselves and our clients - the more we know about our client's business and the more they know about ours, the better the business outcome is for both.
